#33 Toy Plastic Boulder
I knew Boxing Day would be the hardest to complete a painting in, having spent the day with my sister and my two nephews it seemed only right that I paint one of thier toys. This is a plastic boulder which seemed like a nice follow on from the stone I painted the other day. Oil on gesso 16cm x 12cm.

#30 Stone
Having painted a few things that have been thrown into my garden here is a painting of something I didn't and wouldn't want to have found thrown into the garden. This stone struck me (pun intended) as being very square but also very worn. I like to think it was a cube once upon a time whe the earth was young....
Over Christmas I intend to update the blog as regularly as normal but the Ebay listings may be done in batches, but they will all be listed!

# 23 Jigsaw Piece
Now, some years ago I started to collect jigsaw pieces that I found as I went about my daily business, unfortunately I have since lost most of them. This one however has always held my interest, I particularly like the coloured stripes. Oil on gesso 16cm x 12cm.
edit: This is from a Beatles Jigsaw and not one I found. It has now rejoined its jigsaw brothers and sisters.

1st painting - Chicken Head Knob
...and so it begins. This is an oil painting of a chicken head knob as used on effects pedals, amplifiers and the like. I have painted this on gesso primed MDF using burnt umber, ultramarine blue and titanium white. It is available to bid on and buy through ebay starting bid is £1.00 and will be sent out when fully dry, which might take a week or so. If you are the winning bidder I will keep you updated! The size is 16cm x 12cm.
Dan Young, Daily
Welcome one and all to my new project. I intend to make a painting a day. Inspired by lots of the enthusiastic daily painters I have found online particularly Duane Kieser. I aim to invigorate my painting practice by becoming a slave to paint again. If anyone finds this little section of the interweb and becomes interested in the paintings most will be for sale through ebay so grab a bargain!
Today is the first day of the project so, I need to get started making lots of supports to paint on! I tend to work on canvas, board and primed paper and I anticipate the paintings that appear here will be relatively small, no bigger than 20cm x 30cm and probably smaller.
okay here we go.....
