#157 Spinach
You might have thought that the royal wedding might have influenced my painting today but it hasn't, we did get our first spinach of the year from the garden so maybe there is a link there. Spinach - popeye - sailor - navy - RAF - Prince William. Mmmm maybe I was influenced by the royal wedding after all.

#156 Egg Shell from egg #2
This isn't the shell from the egg I painted yesterday..oh no. This is the shell from the second egg to be laid (we think from a different chicken) and it was a double yolker. Wow, we had gammon egg and chips and peas to celebrate. Poached the eggs to perfection and they tasted amazing, thank you chickens, now lay some more.

#155 Egg#1
Today is a miomentous day it is the day our chickens laid their first egg, it isn't huge but niether is it a 'softie' which don't sound good, or a deformed shape, also not good. Will update you on taste, size of yolk etc tomorrow with a possible cooked egg painting.

#151 Charcoal
On the face of it not a very sunny day painting but it does mean we will be having a BBQ later on. I also like to think of it as a symphony in black.

#150 Hot Cross Bun
I have painted a Hot Cross Bun on Good Friday for the past two years and saw no reason not to paint on today. I drew one too which was fun. Oh, and I ate one.

#146 Slate Paddle stone
more gardening today and one of my jobs was to pick out all of the large stones from the newly raised beds. I found lots of slate paddle stones. This one looks a little like a whales eye and mouth, plankton anyone?

#145 Timber too
Ok, so I manufactured tonight's detail to make a pair with last nights. This is the other sized timber I am using to buiid the raised beds. One and a half in, with a half to finish tomorrow!

#144 Timber
We have started the easter holiday garden project today, the final bit of path up to the greenhouse and chickens (still no eggs, but I have a small wager on tomorrow being the day!) also three raised beds for the growing of lettuces. This is a small piece ofcut of wood that I placed on the orange chair outside and when I walked past it you know me and orange!

This is the colour of the last room in the house yet to recieve our interior decorative flair, it is a bright sunny yellow and this rawlplug looks exceptionally marvellous inside it.

#137 Spider Hand Puppet
This could be one of things I have owned the longest, my Mum made it when I was tiny fella it now lives in the studio as a studio mascot. It is a glove with a head making it a very clever spider (albeit with 5 legs) puppet. I used to enjoy scaring my sister with it, surely that is what it's for isn't it?

#136 Hammer Handle
This was my Grandad Bill's hammer (I still call it Grandads hammer so, maybe it still is) which is why I love using it but save it for special jobs like tapping in picture hooks or tapping canvas bars together. Basically anything that inviolves tapping things into other things, nothing too bangy that wouldn't do at all.
PS (can you have a ps on a blog post??) There is a cool thing that happens if you click the word handle below..more of those soon!

#135 Hole in my Hot Waterbottle
If you are following me on twitter you will know I have been feeling under the weather today. You will also know I fell asleep with a hot water bottle this morning and it burst, meaning I woke up in a puddle of clammy warm water and now the sofe is soaked through. This is the tiny hole in the old perished rubber that led to me and our main seating device getting a good wetting, bah.

#134 Ocarina Pattern
I haven't succumbed to painting silly toys (well not everyday anyway) but I do like a nice pattern every now and again. Not very often, but every now and again. This is from our ocarina which you can see painted in full here.

#133 monkey face
I have to stop myself painting small toys like this one otherwise everyday would be a crazy little animal or weird car painting. But, I am a serious artist with serious concerns and ...ah sod it I just might paint silly toys for the rest of the year cos it's too much fun!
Ps if this post goes horribly wrong it's because I am testing a new blogging app

#132 Butternut Sqaush
I was regailing my colleagues about 'weeping' or 'sweating' butternut squashes when they have been cut. Here you can see the beads of liquid form on the rim of the cut. What is interesting is that because I cut the squash at an angle it appears that I painted it badly, I haven't honest.

#131 Quince Blossom
This is from our ornamental japanese quince, and very ornamental it is too, especially when it is in flower like it is now. Happy Mothers day to all the Mums out there especially mine!

#130 Melon flesh
