I thought I would add a little bit of danger to this tower of wood, so here is a burnt match, let's hope it has properly gone out.

I have been thinking about all the different ways I could attach wood together in this painting, here is a dowel inserted into yesterday'siece of wood.

213 Wooden offcut tower

This piece of wood, beech I think, used to be an easel. It isn't anymore.

The stone tower painting might be finished, it might not. Either way I am starting a wooden off cuts tower, this piece is an offcut from a sink stand I made for the garden....

I have a life aim, that only began when I found this stone on the beach. I am looking for the squarest natural stone that I can find. This is he leading contender on the top of my tower of stones. I may find a better one I may not.

The footballing World Cup begins and I get all thick and painterly. I have had this idea in my head for a few days. Lots of thick juicy and paint bright colours, lovely.

Those of you at my talk the other weekend will know what I mean when I say I felt like painting a stone! This one has a wonderful series of darker lines running through it and it will provide an excellent base for a pile of stones over the coming weeks.

Vase of flowers - watercolour

I'm trying something a little different tonight, I have reduced the vase of flowers that I have been painting, and that are slowly fading, to these few marks with watercolour paint. I wonder if it could be even less....

191 Vase of flowers

The title says 'Vase' but in actuality it is a shot glass. I have done this sparsely coloured watercolour of the flowers left alive from yesterday's painting.
