Day #187 Three Nails

I have banged in a few of these over the last few weeks, didn't bend many.

Doh! I forgot to post this the other day grrrr!

Day #189 Blood

Contrary to the picture (which does rather appear to suggest that the blood has come about through some glass on skin contact) I had some blood tests this afternoon, to decide whether I am human or not, there has been some suggestion recently (full moon ) that I may be a werewolf. We'll see.

Again contrary to the picture the phlebotomist was very good and there is minimal bruising and I felt almost nothing and there was certainly no blood spilt. It is hard to stop me painting blood, given half the opportunity. Oh dear, now I just sound creepy. Pass the chianti!

Day #188 Bone Nut Blank

I am usually terrible at remembering to take a 'before' picture of things I've made, done, built, repaired something. I always remember when I take an 'after' picture but that's no good if there is no 'before'. Well here is a 'before' painting and I hope to add the 'after' later. When it has been transformed in a nut for my guitar, then all will become clear.

It's getting harder to spot what I've painted, today's is the white thing!

Day #186 Guitar Slide

I am a very excited boy today, I have been saving up my pocket and birthday money for a metal resonator guitar for playing blues slide guitar on. Today was delivery day woop woop! So to commemorate the occasion I have painted my slide, not the broken Budweiser bottle I used when I first taught myself to play, probably before I was old enough to drink Budweiser (I must have got one of my dads....) because that was far too dangerous and sharp. Anyway I'm off to play.

Sorry if you have no idea what I'm talking about...normal service will be resumed ....

Day 185 Chicken

Look who appeared, hen one. AKA Hen Solo, due to her recent time spent in solitary, due to ill health. here she is back on form and interested in rock cakes and dead bugs.

On a technical note it is good to get something living and larger into the painting but I must not forget to add some shadows when she is dry.

Day #184 Black Pudding

This weekend was brought to you by various types of sausage, here we have a black pudding. Proving that this is not a painting for vegetarians.

Day #181 Eye

I visited the opticians today and I don't need new specs, well my left has got a little bit worse but that has been the case for ages now, I expect they can't get any worse otherwise I would have to wear telescopes. I was going to paint my glasses but I put them down to paint and I couldn't find them.

Day #180 Hanging String

Degree show time at the University of Gloucestershire (and everywhere else of course but I don't have anything to do with any of those...) and today my main tasks involved using the scissor lift. Fricking terrifying. Our Fine Art Studios are built in an old basketball gym which is huge, and a little bit more than 8 metres tall, I know that because the scissor lift goes 7 metres up and I could only just reach the roof to tie the various bits of string which will be used to hang various things from for the degree show,  as will this piece of string. Luckily I could paint this on ground level, phew.

Day #179 Chocolate

Chocolate is deadly. Beware. I had a close call whilst driving is evening, I began to choke on a segment of chocolate very similar to the one you see here on the sweetie tower. I quickly put the hazard lights on, pulled over and got Debbie to belt me on the back. She loved it. The belting me, not me nearly choking to death. *shudder*

Day #178 Toothpaste

Long time readers of this blog will remember my tales of dentists from last Christmas and the Christmas before that (I have not been lucky with my upper left area) Well, today I went to a new dentist and she didn't pull out or drill any of my teeth. yay! Which means the pain in my sinuses is actually in my sinuses. Opticians next, i want to check it's not my eyes before we go back to the doctors. I'm going for a triple whammy this week Dentist, Optician and Doctor. I wonder if I could squeeze in a chiropodist appointment too..... Aaaaanyway here is some toothpaste although I'm told I need to floss more. I hate flossing. But I hate fillings more. Might paint some floss tomorrow.

Saturday, 11 May 2013

Day #169 Tea Bag

From not drinking tea at all I have become a complete addict...

Friday, 10 May 2013

Day #168 Fern and Moss

I finally removed the ferns growing on the outside of the house, they look good but do my mortar no good at all.

Tuesday, 7 May 2013

Day #165 Dead Wasp

I was awoken by Debbie being attacked by this little devil, and as soon as I saw the beaten carcass curled in death and defeat I knew I had to paint it.

Monday, 6 May 2013

Day #164 Tulip

I thought. Had better paint this tulip out of the garden today before it fades. Now you know the two types of tulips that we have.

Sunday, 5 May 2013

Day #163 Sombrero

Happy Cinco de Mayo! How convenient they named it after the date it falls on, very helpful. So lets celebrate Mexican-ness everywhere, (although, my research informs me, ironically they don't celebrate it much in Mexico. Apologies if this is terribly stereotypical subject for todays painting but I really wanted to paint my Lego sombrero hanging in a tree.

Day #162 Pink Plectrum

For those of you not avid cycling fans (I blame last summers antics) the Giro d'Italia started today with a win for the Isle of Mans Mark Cavendish, hooray. As the leaders jersey colour is pink I have selected my pinkest plectrum to paint.
