Day #309 Magnet
Imagine my delight when, as a small child, I found out that the big comic magnets from bugs bunny and roadrunner cartoons are actually like that!

Day #307 Wax Owl
I am fairly certain this was made by an old art college chum, Phil Noall, I will check with him on Facebook shortly....

Day #306 Rusty Nail
I have been moving things around the garden and found this rusty nail, there a lot of rusty things in our garden, some more interesting than others.

Day #304 Leek
We lost the war with leek moth, but we escaped the battlefield with a few spoils before destroying all of the eaten leeks along with all of the moths, hopefully...

Day #302 Green Chilli Slice
I couldn't resist adding this, a dash of green over some red! I wonder how many ingredients this nail will take?

Day #300 Charcoal, Pencil and Conte marks
I delivered my drawing materials workshop this morning to our bright shiny new first year fine artists. We tried out various aspects of their drawing packs. It looks like some of them have tried out things on this piece of paper on my painting.

Day #299 Earwig
I found one of these in my sweet corn ear, not the eating part just the exterior. An earwig in an ear of corn! It is hard to see here so you will have to come and see it when it's finished.

Day #298 Spyhole
I wanted to see what was on the other side of this wall, it looks like it might be 'outside'. It is letting a draught through though so I might hang something over it.

Day #297 Daddy Long Legs
I hate it when these little buggers start to run riot over your house in the autumn. Apparently conkers in the corner of your room will deter spiders, but not sure about crane flys. Might paint one in and see...

Day #295 Tea stain
I tend to try and base my daily paintings on my actual day to day activities. As I have done absolutely nothing of note today other than drinking tea. Here you have it a tea stain!
And an overhead shot 'in situ'
Now, more tea.

Day #294 Thorns
I've turned this branch into a thorny blackberry branch in honour of the mashooove thorn I pulled out of my finger this evening. Ouch.

Day #292 A Squeeze of Tomato Purée
I found myself thinking about Tom purée so I painted some on my branch of squeezes, you can see Tom purée then burnt sienna and finally toothpaste.

Day #289 Striped stone
I wish I could remember where we found this particular little beauty, I expect a beach... It is one of those little moments in nature when you can't believe the human hand hasn't been responsible in some way. The stripes are so sinuous and seemingly purposeful. It's probably sediment layers or some such geological wizardry!

Day #288 Five Apricots
Five dried apricots to exact, although I was thinking about them as five orange areas of colour when I placed them around the table.
Saturday, 7 September 2013
Day #287 Butterfly
I had it all planned I was going to paint a butterfly on my sisters birthday, and then I forgot and went and painted an oily rag. Sorry sis, here is a butterfly!
Friday, 6 September 2013
Day #286 Oily Rag
I have begun the process of oiling my new ukulele. This is the first rag, not sure how many coats I will need but it means it is nearly finished...
Thursday, 5 September 2013
Day #285 Greengage
Greengages are quite possibly my favourite sort of plum. I probably only have them on one day in the year if I see them. Today is that day.

Day #283 Dutch House
I've painted this a few times through DY Daily. But not for two years. I wonder if I have painted anything in each of the five years of this project?

Day #282 Shell
I think I have been pining for the seaside, I will have to settle for this paltry pile of seashells. I'm p,eased with this little one highlighting the distance to the large one in the background, you can't beat false perspective!
I realise this getting hard to follow with the smaller objects!

Day #282 Crowe Feather
I usually try to include a reference to The Black Crowes, my favourite band, at least once a year in these daily painting series of mine. Is year here is a black crowes feather we found on a foraging mission I the week. Such a lovely dark object, more dark than dark!
