097 Two guitars a ukulele and a Morandi
I have been playing around with one of he not so good prints I made yesterday, I think it needs some more stuff in it. So I have added a doorway, a morandi etching, one of my paintings and a guitar slide...

096 Three Guitars - etching
Okay, so, you are right, technically this is not red, but in my head it is a lovely dark red line. But today was all about getting the plate etched and then the afternoon getting a good print. This was the best one and soon I will print a run of red ones.

093 Red Resonator - sharpie
Another sketch for my etching this time focusing on one guitar, my metal resonator. If anyone knows the Robert Crumb 'blues and country musician' portraits I was thinking of those while I drew this.

088 Puppy Tooth
So this is the tooth that was coming loose as the vet was trying to look inside Ochres mouth. Not the best time to attempt such a procedure. It didn't go well for the vet, sorry Emma the vet.

I am pretty sure all of Ochres puppy teeth are out now, this is our haul, she ate the rest. The last one came out at puppy class tonight, no I didn't crawl around the floor looking for it....

083 Puppy tooth - oil on dibond
Having a puppy is full of lots of very cute and lovely things, there are also lots of things that are less cute. Here is one of them, a bloody puppy tooth. This one avoided the crunch, happy Valentine's Day!

081 Headstock (front view)
I know I know, 'this isn't red!' Well no, you would be right, the picture isn't but the subject is! As you will have seen from the last few evenings paintings. I was going to paint this up after the initial drawing but the I realised I wasn't going to use any red paint and why spoil a lovely drawing. I think It looks a little like a surprised animal!

076 Bass guitar Portrait - oil on Linen
I am selling my cherry red bass, mostly because I don't play it and someone else probably will! So I thought it might be a nice idea to paint it before it leaves me. After all it is red.

074 Ochre and her red ball
This gives you some idea of the speed of our puppy. Speedy especially when there is a red ball involved, it has something to do with the science of colour. Except I don't think dogs can differentiate between reds and greens!

073 Ochre - the sit/down champion - monoprint

072 Red Shirt
During this daily painting malarkey I sometimes find it easy to pick an object each day and somedays you just get given something that is perfect. Today was such a day. My new office buddy and fashion designer Jamilla has just got back from Berlin and got me the lovely pencil holder you see on the left, in red of course! I can use it to extend the life of some well loved but short pencils. I can also draw a red shirt as a thank you!

071 Watercolour dirty water jar - oil on canvas - part III
Ahhhh the simple pleasures of making a painting, as you will see I am using no fixed methodology here. I haven't really followed any traditional technique just got stuck in. I wanted to let a style emerge on its own without me deciding on a direction at the beginning. Which oddly makes me want to make a very traditional painting...

070 watercolour dirty water jar - part II
Another stint on my oil painting of a watercolour rinsing jar. It is such a nice feeling being able to walk away from a painting knowing you can return the next day!
