Day #353 Canvas key

This is one of those wooden doohickeys you bang inthe back of your canvas stretcher, if you are a first year student at the University of Gloucestershire, you will know exactly what this is after tomorrow's canvas stretching workshop. If you are not, then you will have to google it!

Day #352 Mould

Oh no the slice of bread has gone mouldy.

Day #351 Fresh Egg

This is today's actual egg, a little amazed I haven't painted one of our hens eggs in this years project. Well, now I have so, I will stop being amazed.

Day #350 Paper plane

This is the only flying thing in the painting! So far.

Day #349 Bonsai Scissors

I don't just paint and play ukulele you know, sometimes I torture little trees with these scissors. Often to death. 

Day #348 Humbug painting

I have been sorting through the water colour paintings from year two in readiness for my show at the end of the month (get your christmas presents folks!) I liked this picture of a humbug for day 148 year two 20th April 2010. But I  Don't think it quite makes the cut so I'm going to sneak it in by painting a painting of it in this years painting! Confused yet.

Day #347 Firework

Happy bonfire night everyone! I do like a good flower arrangement with a firework and a paintbrush, you wait everyone will be doing it in 2015!

Day #346 Little peg

As I near the end of this years painting I am starting to think about some of the things I wanted to include but haven't yet. This tiny peg is one of them. Tick.

Day #342 Moustache

I have been waiting all year to paint a moustache on this years painting. The main reason for this desire to include a bit of facial hair is that I love the lyric in the Cream Song S.W.L.A.B.R. '..but the picture has a moustache' so, I really wanted this picture to have a moustache. Also, happy Movember to all Mo growers.

Day #340 Chip Shop Chip

One of Britains culinary triumphs; the fish and chip shop. So respected is it that  I have included one of this evenings chip shop chips in my niche, just on top of the ball of tinfoil and the French fry (an inferior cousin).

Day #339 Basic Shapes

I can't remember when I painted a series of basic shapes on my studio wall, it was early on during this years project I think but not sure why. A warm up for something. I have recreated that moment of Cezanne-esque moment of simplification here right at the centre of the picture. I, like Cezanne, try to simplify everything to simple shapes to help make sense of them. So, an orange is a sphere, a mobile phone is a flattened and elongated cube and a mountain is a cone.
