#197 Empty Watercolour Pan

As you can see I am very very close to running out of Magnesium Blue (dont worry I have a tube as well!) I have painted this already this year but it had more paint in it then and was with its colour brothers and sisters.

Mag. Blue has been a revelation to me throughout this years paintings. I have used it a lot to make the shadows on the watercolours have a bit of life to them. Before I discovered it (in my tin!) I would probably have used cobalt or ultramarine blue but, I prefer the slightly unusual/turquoise nature of this blue. The dark bit in this painting is some leaked Paynes Grey from the neighbouring pan. Watercolour and pencil (and magnesium blue) 14cm x 9cm click here to bid.
