#68 Wine Cork

I wanted to paint this wine cork mostly because I actually quite fancy getting back to the bottle it belongs to and help make the contents dissapear! Half a glass of it also went into my very first attempt at making moule mariniere. It was stunning, even if I do say so myself.

#67 Electrical Tape

I have nearly painted this soooo many times, everytime I kept thinking 'mmm the green and yellow type would be better (Norwich City Colours!) or manybe the red one (I love painting red and orange things!) or the Blue. The problem is I have the black one and have no reason to buy the other sort! This has nothing to do with electrical tape but a good opportunity for me to kindly ask you to assist me in a little survey I am undertaking about this here little project of mine. Do please click here if you wouldn't mind asnswering a few questions and ticking a few boxes, thanks!

#63 Cranberry Cookie

This is a cranberry cookie from a pack we had at Christmas but didn't open, until now. Very tasty if a little staler than they were at the begining of the weekend but that doesn't stop them being good subjects for a painting. Watercolour and Pencil 14cm x 9cm click here to bid.

#62 Green Espresso Mug

I like to pick objects to paint that have a relevance to my day, not always, sometimes I find things that have no particular meaning to the day that I paint them except that I want to paint them on that day and at that moment! This however has special resonance because I finally finished making and painting the shelves and hung them in the kitchen today! Woohoo! Now we have somewhere to put all of our mugs and glasses and tea making equipment. This is another of my espresso mugs here are the others, 1 from year one of the project and now 2 from this year. #61 Poinsettia Bract

Strictly speaking I should have saved this for a Christmas painting for next years painted advent project. The only problem with that is that this leaf fell off today and I found it today so I painted it today! The poinsettia is slowly shedding it glorious bracts and isn't long for this planet so a good time to record its glory! Watercolour and Pencil 19cm x 14cm click here to bid.

#60 Two Halves of a Nectarine

First of all I am very excited to announce I was on the tele tonight! If you follow this link http://tinyurl.com/ygcj7ys you should see the entire program with my slot about 15 or 16 minutes in. I especially enjoyed seeing the presenters drawings! Many thanks to Rob and Tim who squeezed into the studio with their cameras and lights last week to film me painting the lemon! In case anyone missed the lemon auction I am relisting it tonight as it was the one in the piece on ITV West Country Tonight. I paint quick dont I ;). I painted the these two Nectarine halves both in partnership with the lemons and in celebration of having some bloody lovely nectarines! Watercolour and Pencil 29cm x 19cm click here to bid.

#59 Mermaids Purse

I cant tell how nice it is to be able to revisit old subjects so, I wont. This mermaids purse was painted on day #86 of year one. It was also painted in another series of paintings I have started using the subject matter from Dan Young, Daily. This]seems like a good time to formally signal the way towards my new website http://www.danyoungart.co.uk/ . It shouldn't take you too long to locate the painting that includes this mermaids purse in the DYD Combinations section. There are all sorts of other series of drawings and paintings to have a look through with more coming soon! Watercolour and pencil 19cm x14cm click here to bid.

#57 Pair of Socks

These are possibly my favorite pair of socks, it is rare to find a stripey sock of this quality, unusual colours, a good wide stripe (most stripey mens socks tend towards a thin stripe) and they fit very well. They could be a touch warmer (to compensate for my lazy circulation) but when they look this good warmth can wait! I was planning on wearing them tomorrow , I may have to put another pair underneath as it looks like snow tomorrow. Watercolour and pencil 24cm x 19cm click here to bid.

#50 Two Halves of a Lemon

While I paint a picture everyday, my partner Debbie, drinks a hot lemon drink every (well most days) and as I painted the lemon squeezer a few days ago I thought it a good time to paint the fruit it self. Made all the more interesting as I was being filmed by ITV west whilst painting this one....more on that when it happens! Watercolour and Pencil 24cm x 19cm click here to bid.

#49 Musell Shell

One of the best things about painting objects over the last 414 days is that I have collected quite a few 'things'. Ranging from a birds skull to a broken mug handle or a golf tee to a half eaten poppy seed roll. So on evenings like tonight I can delve around until I find something that takes my eye. Tonight is this mussell shell which is from a meal we had on the 12th of June I know that because I painted it on day #201 in year one. watercolour and pencil 14cm x 9cm click here to bid.

#47 Toast

We have had our new toaster for a few days now and arent 100% on top of it this afternoon I made a couple of slices one for me one for Debbie, I prefer a more well done piece and Debbie prefers it a bit lighter toasted. Well I burnt mine and barely warmed Debbies. This is the underdone version. Watercolour and pencil 19cm x 14cm click here to bid.

#45 Sprouted Bean

This is one of our runner beans from last year and we were just seeing if the freezing temperatures had killed the batch. So, four were popped into a jar with a damp tissue and we waited to see if they sprouted...they did well, three of them did so I guess they ar efine to grow next year! Rather than waste them I thought I would draw one for your viewing pleasure today. Watercolour and Pencil 19cm x 14cm click here to bid.

#41 Lemon Juicer

Over the last year or more I have become fascinated by the mundane things we do everyday, eating, sleeping (except last night..couldnt drop off!) breathing, cleaning teeth you know the sort of thing. I realised today in the kitchen that Debbie (my significant other) drinks lemon juice everyday, it helps digestion etc. So, I have made this drawing of our new lemon juicer to celbrate daily doings everywhere! #39 Sonic Screwdriver

For those of you unfamiliar with UK television I'm afraid you will have no idea what this is! This is my sonic screwdriver (toy, not real!) Debbie bought it for my birthday a couple of years ago and it has been invaluable ever since. Now the explanation for painting it today is interesting and convoluted so bear with me. This evenings episode of Doctor Who sees the tenth Doctors (played by David Tennant) final episode which will end in a regeneration when (as is traditional) the eleventh Doctor will be unvieled. The eleventh actor to play the famous timetraveler will be Matt Smith whose Grandfather happens to be friends with my partner Debbies Mum and Dad... small world eh? Watercolour and pencil 29cm x 19cm click here to bid.

oh and Happy new year!
