Day #156 Penknife

Not just any old penknife, oh no, this one has had a new handle made out of our old willow tree, by me! I had a wonderful day whittling this out of a willow branch.... I hope it doesn't warp itself off!

Day #137 Solera

If I wasn't painting everyday I would probably be making guitars and ukeleles and other exciting stringed instruments. This solera is used in acoustic instrument building this one I made for a ukeleles I am planning, these things take time you know!

Day #136 Canary

So, today is national 'Draw a Bird' day. Yep its a real thing! You can find out about it here, http://www.dabday.com/ I know I have twisted the idea a little and painted a stitched bird! But I don't think anyone will mind, particularly any Norwich City fans out there!

Day #134 Chopped Wood

We spent a good portion of the day chopping down a pair of trees from the back garden then the rest of the day moving bit of the trees from the back garden and recovering from chopping down the trees from the back garden. Here I have painted a piece of the tree from the .... You get the idea..

Day #130 Packing Tape

This stuff gets everywhere! I've painted this today as I took down and packed up my #CotswoldLandscapes show, a little sad to see it taken down but looking forward to a 'lie in' tomorrow! Roll on the next show - 'Dan Young, Daily 5 years and Counting' 27th November to 3rd December later this year. In which I will be showing a selection of every year of DYD.

Day #129 Oyster Mushrooms

It is very exciting in our mushroom growing area! These little fellows (aka primordium) have started to poke their mushrooms heads up over the past couple of days. I can't wait for our first homegrown mushroom omelette!
