#159 Melon

We are a house of invalids today (just a cold, before anyone worries) so we are trying to utilise the power of the melon to help banish the symptoms. Well, melon and paracetamol and hot drinks and menthol and cough sweets ....

#156 Oil Burner

Oh dear the house smells of fire! Not because we have one, I hope. It's from a neighbours coal fire, but I think they might be burning something unpleasant. Which is why I have put some nice smelling oil into the oil burner!

#153 Seedling

A sunflower seedling, I will try to remember to draw one of its flowers later in the year!

#152 Air Freshener

I have a smelly drawer. I think it is from a wooden box that has been used to keep some art materials in that went off and smelled bad. I can't get the whiff out of the box so, I have secreted this inside the drawer in an attempt to ward off the stinky stink.

#151 Cotton Rolls

It's been a day of raspberry planting, sowing and sewing, snooker watching and cake baking/eating. I thought these summed the day up quite nicely, apart from the cake perhaps.

#150 Medieval wall

This wall is in Tewkesbury such a nice colour I had to make a picture of it. I like how you wouldn't know what it is if I didn't tell you.

#149 Tyre in a Field

I like the position of the tire, in a Constable painting that would be a tree, sometimes referred to as a retroussé tree. It leads the eye into the painting. Here I have used the retroussé tyre for similar purposes.

#148 View From Littledean (aka public footpath)

I went to Cinderford today to start an Artists working in schools course, I spent a little bit of time on the way home landscape hunting and found this view of the Severn estuary from Littledean. Then it rained on me so I went home.

#146 Canada Goose

I went for a morning of IT training today, I can now change anything on our faculty web page...... The best thing is I got to walk with the ducks and geese on the way back to the car.

Monday 16 April 2012

#145 ID Card

First day back at work after a couple of weeks off which was a shock to the system. I had a little trouble remembering which doors to flash my ID card at, which ones will open for me and which ones I have to open myself!

#144 Banana cake

Baking, a traditional Sunday activity. It's always nice to go to work with a bit of cake on a Monday morning. This is my banana tray bake all cut up into sections. With a bit of experimentation in the painting of the icing sugar on top.

Saturday 14 April 2012

#143 Fences

Allotment visit today and I spotted this multiple fence view, and I'm never one to shirk a challenge. My eyes feel a bit odd now!

Friday 13 April 2012

#142 Mac

Meet Mac, he lives at a garden centre we went to today (be careful, he bites).

Thursday 12 April 2012

#141 Painted Wall

This section of fresco is from Gloucester Cathedral in a side chapel painted by victorian artist Thomas Ganbier Parry in 1866-8. There are some amazing sections that look almost phsycadelic.

#138 Spray Cleaner

I quite fancied a bit of spring cleaning today, odd I know, I used this but have only just noticed the fantastic red nozzle.

#136 Gloucestershire Airport

Long story cut short: missed a parcel delivery, got a 'sorry you were out' card, went to Staverton industrial estate to pick up parcel, drove back past Gloucestershire airport saw the lights and runway, stopped ran back to capture this image then got on with my day!

Friday 6 April 2012

#135 Hot Cross Buns

I think the supermarket had the smell of hot cross buns being pumped throughout it. It worked, I find it hard to resist shiny baked goods with sultanas and cinnamon at the best of times.

Thursday 5 April 2012

#134 Breeze Blocks

It isn't a bank holiday weekend if there isn't a big pile of building materials in the garden!

Wednesday 4 April 2012

#133 View from Cleeve Common

You know when you have that burning desire to get to the top of the tallest hill near you? Yes! Me too!

Tuesday 3 April 2012

#132 Silver Birch Trees

I had a wander around Wellington park while I waited for Debbie to finish having her muscles manipulated, I liked these silver birch trees best even though there was a red tulip!

Monday 2 April 2012

#131 Blue Tire

You know you are on holiday when you find yourself at the allotment two days on the trot.

Sunday 1 April 2012

#130 Tulip III

An allotment tulip, I could have just done the chicken wire, I love to draw chain link and chicken wire type fences!
