Day #097 Toy Tree

I have been sorting all sorts of 'stuff' for my exhibition in a months time, have a look at all my hard work over at my website http://www.danyoungart.co.uk or click the #CotswoldLandscapes picture over on the right hand side there. You are, of course, all invited to the private view on March 27th for a glass of something and a gander at some of the prints from last years 'Dailies'. I have selected some of the best landscapes from the Series and they were all from the Cotswolds! Hence the show. Aaaanyway, here is a tree to reference the landscape.

Gardens Gallery. March 27th. Wednesday. 6pm. See you there. All welcome. Enjoy!

Day #095 Wall Plug

Don't you hate it when you bang your wall plug in and it squashes and falls out of the wall. Bah.

Day #094 Pebbles

You will recall, dear reader, how I began this pile of stones so I had a simple painting option for those evenings when I didn't really fancy painting. Well, I'm rather taken with it now and found myself deciding to paint another couple of stones. This niche is fast becoming a favourite area on the pic.

Day #092 Chorizo Sausages

I like to see hanging meats, it always reminds me of being in Spain or Italy. Paella soon!

Day #091 Fan Brush

'Oh my, this didnt post last night eek! I have only ever not posted on the day of painting once before. Whoops!'

I have been so conscious of painting too many 'painting this' I haven't painted any at all in this years painting. Until now, here's a fan brush behaving like a flower.

Day #089 Microbore pipe

In recognition of the exorbitant quote for a new boiler today (and associated works...) I thought a small piece of pipe would be a good subject, I think this used to be water pipe but let's not split hairs....

Tuesday 19 February 2013

Day #088 Plaster

Oh no! The wall is falling down....I wonder if it will reveal anything? He suggested knowingly.

Monday 18 February 2013

Day #087 Potato

I was very sad to hear of the death of Richard Briers, I love 'The Good Life'. I wanted to celebrate him in todays little bit of my painting so, I have selected one of our chitting potatoes. Which is also the most 'good lifey' bit of our house at the minute.

Day #085 Jigsaw Piece

A few years ago I collected quite a few jigsaw pieces as I saw them lying on the floor, lost ones at home and out and about. It's surprising how many you come across. Here is one of them, an edge piece, very useful. Well, not any more.

Day #084 Three bits of Gravel.

If you know why I'm painting a pile of stones, you know why I've painted these.

Day #082 Staples

I gave my *world famous canvas stretching demonstration this afternoon so, I needed staples. There is nothing worse than running out of staples while you are stretching canvas, if you are interested, my technique is laid out here

Day #080 Horse

I thought I would put a horse in an incongruous place. There seems to be a lot of it about!

Sunday 10 February 2013

Day #079 Vase

I have decided to pay an homage to Giorgio Morandi on the plinth, so look out for a small collection of bottles appearing. There will a few of my other still life heroes dotted around the picture by 'years end'. That's right my heroes are still life painters, oh and Spider-Man.

Saturday 9 February 2013

Day #078 Driftwood Shelf

I've been thinking about adding a shelf of some kind, and here is a piece of drift wood cunningly turned into a little shelf. I wonder what will be placed upon it?

Day #076 Lollipop Stick

Having had my bothersome wisdom tooth popped out yesterday, I am feeling a little delicate and sore today. On the plus side I am on a diet of Lollies, ice cream and chocolate milk. This lolly stick is from a strawberry mivvi, an all time favourite of mine.

Wednesday 6 February 2013

Day #075 Wall Plug in Wall

Please forgive the minimal nature of today's painting, I had my wisdom tooth pulled this morning. Which has left my face feeling somewhat uncomfortable. I also, for obvious reasons, wanted to paint a hole.

Day #073 Pebble

Another stone on the pile, or cairn or tower, not sure what it is...

Saturday 2 February 2013

Day #071 Peg

The 'gravity defying' washing line needs to have a peg on it, and now it has!

Friday 1 February 2013

Day #070 Nephew Josh

This cheeky chap is one of my nephews, Happy birthday Joshua! I expect more nephews will appear on the notice board over the year.
