Owing to her red collar and reddish tones in her fur ochre the puppy qualifies for a painting during the year of red so her goes an oil painting of her facing away from me.

110 Self portrait in a fez, again
So, this is a bit of a cheat, in that I made the lino plate for this print during last years daily nonsense. But today we did a lino and wood cut workshop with the fine art students. As a test piece we used this plate. I loved the colour so much that today's post is dedicated to Pantone red. Mmm mmm.

Another swatch painting.... Mostly because it been a long day, and it rhymes with watch and that reminds me of apples silly iwatch. I stopped wearing a watch about five years ago..

105 Tints - oil paint
My main red oil colours that I use on my palette, from the top burnt sienna, carmine lake extra cadmium red dark, cadmium red light and brilliant rose. Each one with its tint alongside with progressively more zinc white.
