On a day that has been as snowy as today, what else could I do? I made a selection of small snowballs from the back garden and chose this one because of the finger marks in it. Oil on gesso 16cm x 12cm.

When I was much younger I remember visiting a National Trust house where there was a painting of white things (a duck, a plate and such like) against a white ground. I think it was by an artist called Oudrey. I thought it was one of the most wonderful I had seen. This and the paper plane bring back all those memories.

That must have been so difficult to do, brilliant
Thanks both, anon - I love the idea of a load of white paintings like that - watch out for some white art materials!
Blu - a tricky balance trying to not make it look like a really solid thing and under pressure from it melting, so had to be pretty quick!
