#91 Dipper
This is one of those objects that will be instantly recogniseable to anyone who has painted with oil colours and a mystery to someone who hasn't! It is a 'Dipper' which is a small container for your linseed oil or turps or other painting medium. The clever thing about it is that it clips on to your palette. I dont think I have ever seen one with a lid like this one, which as yet we haven't got off. This was amongst a fascinating suitcase full of art materials that belonged to the father of a friend and colleague of Debbie's which has now passed into to my care. I wanted to mark the day with a painting of something of his and this is just the type of painting ephemera I enjoy to paint. Oil on gesso 16cm x 12cm.
