Sorry but there is no 'witty' story or any other reason for painting this other than it smells nice and was in the spice drawer. They are also an important ingredient in winter things like mulled wine and maybe cinnamon biscuits , they have a good crumbly/flakey texture to paint. Okay so there are a lot of reasons!
